Jellyfish turritopsis nutricula could exist only “immortal” in the world, according to researchers.

Jellyfishs die, usually after proliferating. Turritopsis but when it reaches maturity, it returns to a state of sexual immaturity and is able to become young. For them, sex is the key immortality.
4-5 millimeters of the animal, known as a hidrozoar, is the only known creature that is capable young again.

Theoretically, this cycle can be repeated indefinitely by the jellyfish … immortal.

Turritopsis lives in warm tropical waters and are believed to be scattered about when the ballast water of ships in ports is discarded.

Jellyfishs and their reversal of aging are now out in marine biology and geneticienilor. This species able to live forever young through a process of development of cells, called transdiferenţiere, in which cells are transformed from one type to another.

Changing role of cells is usually seen as part of regeneration of organs. It seems that is a normal life in cicul’s turritopsis.
