Google plans launch an operating system designed to challenge the supremacy of Windows, the system produced by Microsoft, market leader.
The operating system will be based on web browser Chrome, said Google Group, in a post on the blog.
It will be designed for low cost laptops, and will be available from the second half of 2010.
Google plans intensifying competition with Microsoft, the largest software producer in the world. In addition to web browsers, the two companies in May and compete in the search engine on the Internet.
Google attacks Microsoft dominance on the office packages, by offering online services office.
“Get messages from users, and they have a common theme – the computers have improved,” said Google. “Operating systems that run applications on the Internet navigation were built during a period in which the internet does not exist.
Operating System Chrome will be open source so developers will have access to the entire architecture and declarations under Google Chrome will be built on the Linux operating system open source.
Google has stated that the operating system will not be attacked by viruses and will not require the installation of security systems.
